How did things change after you came out?

I felt free. Especially after telling my father. Coming out to my parents and having their support unconditionally? I feel unstoppable now. Like an enormous weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Nothing is holding me back now.

If you could go back in time what would you tell your younger self?

Don’t be afraid of your own feelings. And never shrink yourself to make anyone else comfortable.

Do advertisements that feature queer/trans people make you want to support or buy those products?

Not particularly. The media’s ideas of queerness don’t sway me to support different brands. They catch my attention if they feature more than white, gay, cis men, but if their inclusion of other queer and trans people is shallow (it always shows) I still will not support these brands.

Do you think brands who only release LGBTQ+ campaigns during Pride season are sincere in their support?

No. These brands use Pride as a chance to advertise. I don’t believe their stance on being pro-LGBTQ+, especially when their internal practices contradict those morals.
